Mass At Last

What a splendid day it was for our Catholic Community.  It has been over 15 months since the last Mass was celebrated but today all of out parishioners gathered together in the Chapel to celebrate the Memorial of Saints John Fisher and Thomas More by Fr. Michael Palazzo.  It was good to all be together and witnessing the miracle of transubstantian upon the altar.  It was also good to see Fr. Michael and hear his homily.  Although this was our first Mass in 15 months we didn’t go without receiving Holy Communion.  Our wonderful Deacon was very dutiful and visited us every week to bring us the Eucharist, even during the four month long lockdown he stopped by going from door to door for every Catholic in the institution to give us Communion and offer any pastoral care that may be needed.

Seeing the other men in the community was very uplifting and brought a sense of joy and perhaps a start of getting back to normal.  If it is, there is much to do.  I haven’t ran an RCIA or Adult Faith Formation class in nearly a year and a half.  Our Legion of Mary Praesidium has also not met in that time either.  There’s a lot to do but its all for the Glory of God.  I look forward to things getting better and seeing the prodigal sons come home.
