Can You Order A Food Package In Prison?

Federal prisoners at any security level can not order or have food packages sent in. Food packages are strictly prohibited and there are no exceptions. Further, federal prisoners can not receive any other types of packages including care packages, clothing, electronic items, etc.
The only exception being is an inmate may receive a set of clothing for their release shortly before their release date. The cloths will be kept in R&D till the day of the inmates release. They will not have an opportunity to receive them before that time. Regarding food, federal inmates have a commissary and can purchase items there albeit at exorbitantly high prices and of low quality. They can only purchase these in commissary with the money they have on their inmate trust fund account.
