Past V

Wow, It's been a while since my last "Past" update. Lets see where I left off. Oh yes, Ocean Queen Diner, etc. The diner became our spot for the next few years. Soon the summer ended and Melissa and I both started our first semester at Ocean County College. I got a job at Texaco in Point Pleasant and she was teaching at a dance school. You know how it goes, the beginning of any new relationship its all wine and roses, right? Well with Melissa this held true but I felt a deeper connection with her. I don't think she felt the same. Maybe but, we never discussed this. Eventually we both dropped out of school so we could spend more time together. Hindsight of course being 20/20 I see this as a huge mistake bow but it was no big deal at the time. I was very happy pumping gas for $7.50 an hour. This was huge money for a 17 year old in the mid 90's. Well, we met some great friends at school, they lived in Lacey Township. Lost contact with them after we left school. No more common ground I guess. We did a lot of things that winter. I met her friends from H.S., Angie and Steve. They had been together since H.S. Great people, I really liked Steve, I still think about how he and Angie are doing. I hear they're married with kids now, good for them. The four of us because a crew. We would do everything together. Sleep at each others houses, go on vacations together, go on trips to NY and Boston, etc. I felt so grown up at the time. I couldn't think of any way to grow up any more. Man, was I was wrong.
