Past I

July 3, 2007Prison Life

The summer of '94 was one of the better ones in memory. I was starting college that fall, just got my driver's license, and I moved to the Jersey Shore from Jersey City. One of my hobbies at the time was talking on the CB. My handle? White Knight. It was late June and hot. I was craving a grape Slurpee from 7-11. I put out a "shout-out" for anyone in the area requesting they find me the frozen drink. "Sapphire responded-her name was Donna P. and in 15 minutes time I had a grape Slurpee and met a new friend. She told me about this place in Point Pleasant where everyone on the local CB-net would meet on Fridays. I told her I'd be there. I didn't have a car yet so I had to beg a friend of mine to drive me to the "Point". When I arrived I was greeted with a warm welcome that made me feel like I was part of the family but these people that I've never met before but only had conversations with over the CB. This would only last through the summer.
